Easter Printable is Here!

We're trying something a bit new in our shop this season.  First of all we've designed our first Holiday theme (Yay!) and we decided to make it a Printable!  So break out your trusty scissors and glue gun and don't forget to pour yourself a glass of wine!

Our Easter Party Printable was designed entirely with watercolor paintings which gives the party set a beautiful soft vintage feel that is just perfect for Spring.  The printable includes a Garland, Place Cards, Table Signage, Cupcake Toppers, Gift Tags and a Children's Bunny Mask.  However, we encourage our beloved customers to use these designs in whatever way best fits their party and tablescape.

We believe that along with good company and delicious food it's the handcrafted details that make a party memorable and leave your guests feeling special and loved.

Our First Baby Model!

I had the fortunate opportunity to spend part of my Saturday taking pictures of this adorable little boy. His name is Colin (in case you can’t tell from the personalized banner I created for him) and he has a very special day coming up this week; he’s turning 1! Yay!!! Happy birthday Colin!

Colin seemed like a natural choice as a model for our Animal Alphabet theme since as I was designing the party hats, I couldn’t stop thinking of how cute they would look on top of that gorgeous red hair! (On a practical note, I also used Colin to test out the size and attachment length and material before launching the product).

Throughout the photo shoot I had to use all of my effort to stay behind the camera despite my intense desire to pinch his cheeks. Don’t you want to just reach through your screen and give this little guy a big hug!?! Playing with cute kids is definitely an unintentional job perk with Wonderful Collective.

But lets get real for a second. Babies are a lot more challenging to shoot than cupcakes. Their attention span is so short that you have to be really quick with the shutter release. I learned this fast with Colin. He is a baby on the go, and even through he loved the mobile and hat, he was a bit more interested in putting them in his mouth than being an accessory to the product. Still, for the few seconds I had his attention he was a model rock star!

Big shout out to Dan and Maureen for lending me your kid!

Business Cards

I love branding and packaging.  So, of course when it came time to designing the business cards for Wonderful Collective, I was beyond thrilled.

The inspiration for these cards came from the brilliant work of Jordan Brantley for Paper & Stitch (click HERE to view the inspiration).  We are going to take a big giant side step around talking about the fact that I practically copied the idea/design.  Shhhhh!  Hey, good design is meant to be repeated. That's what my Professors would always say, anyway.

To finish if off, each business card is nestled inside a glassine bag with confetti and sealed with washi tape!

The Wonderful World of Screen Print

I am all about packaging.  I fall under the category of people who do buy books purely on the cover.  And so, it was important to me that the packaging for Party in a Tote was not only fun but also a little cheeky and lighthearted.  Summoning Tom Robbins, I gave the inanimate objects a voice.  After all, it's a party and everyone's invited!

I am also all about Tote bags. On any given day you will see me running around the Bay Area with several tote bags slugged over my shoulder.  Since I take my bags quite seriously I wanted complete control over the screen printing process opting to hand screen print each canvas tote bag.  I'm not a fan, however, of the chemical process that goes into burning the image onto the screens so I always have Anthem Printing (SF company) take care of the dirty work. Anthem always does a beautiful job and their website makes it super easy to place an order.

I printed the bags in black ink first, but then couldn't resist seeing how our logo would look in neon pink! Which one is your favorite?
